USHL TEAMS FINALIZED FOR USHL ATLANTIC CHALLENGE
EAST MEADOW, NY – The final preparations are underway for the 2014 USHL Atlantic Challenge. The scout-packed event is presented by the Twin Rinks of Eisenhower Park, in partnership with the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks, Long Island Gulls, New York Bobcats and the Atlantic Youth Hockey League. The 2nd Annual “Challenge” will kickoff on Friday, September 5, 2014.
The Challenge will feature four (4) USHL teams, Muskegon Lumberjacks, Lincoln Stars, Cedar Rapids Roughriders and the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. The USHL will play two games per day in exhibition competition, along side top Tier I (AAA) 14U, 16U, 18U and Tier III Junior levels of competition.
We are seeking highly competitive Tier I AAA and Tier III Junior programs to participate in the USHL Atlantic Challenge event and build on the success of last year’s event. Last year, we registered 18 NHL scouts and 39 NCAA Division I schools. We believe this year’s turnout will be even better. This is a tremendous opportunity for participating players to receive unprecedented exposure.
The format and fees for the event will be as follows:
Bantam Major - $1,650
Eight teams, four game guarantee, championship on Sunday, three 15-minute periods.
Midget 16 - $1,795
Eight teams, four game guarantee, championship on Sunday, three 16-minute periods with a resurface.
Midget 18- Tier III Junior (Prices will vary)
Showcase format – 25-minute halves, with ice cut. 2 to 3 game guarantee based upon team’s travel (18U and Tier III Juniors: Call for additional information)
